Past, Present and Future
Libra was bought un 1990 by Mehmet Yantac. He started ready made garment production in 1981 were he was one of the first exporters in the ready made garment field in Turkey. RIFLE JEANS license was hold by him between 1990 and 1998 with Rifle Giyim Spor Ltd and also he was the distributor of CALVIN KLEIN JEANS between 1995 and 1998 with Euro Cormat A.S. in Turkey.
Libra works always within a 5 years planning. We define the targets for products, marketing, manufacturing and management strategies.
From 1995 to 1999 Libra was concentrating on the production of all washable flat and denim products. Basic styles and fashion styles were produced. Our partners were allocated only in Europe with a background of more than 10 years and a minimum turnover of US $ 25 Mio per year; either being a brand or retailer.
2000 to 2005 Libra manufactures more fashion and high price items. Targeting the same washing/finishing and quality standards like Italy. Upgrading the product is on of the main targets. . The capacity increases to 100.000 pieces/month in house production. To reach this capacity Libra made an investment plan in 2000 for a new production facility in Anatolia which was opened in August 2002. Always new investments on latest machinery are done to increase the quality standard. Acquisitions of key talent and experience; and integrating more deeply with new and existing partners. High-tech office systems were installed.
In 2005 to 2009 Libra will concentrate in high fashion production. In 2005 more than 50 % of the fabrics are bought already in Italy, Spain and Belgium. Libra is creating 6 times a year an own collection as a design helping tool. The strategy is to increase the fashion and the quality. Six Sigma and ISO 9001 project is implemented into the company will be finished by the first half of 2006.
Libra will increase the capacity to 125.000 pieces monthly and the sampling capacity to 200 pieces per day. That will increase the service level and the quality.
Due to the good results in 2005 Libra is focusing on the Italian market using the existing connections but also adding following targets:
- Creating a partnership with an existing Italian denim garment producer
- Opening a design and developing center in Europe
- Cooperation with an Italian Design Studio

Our factory is located in Erbaa/Tokat, 700 kilometer from Istanbul at the Black Sea. The factory was opened in August 2002. Libra was one of the first companies investing in that none developed production area. We are working close together with the municipality and the management of the industrial area to improve the local development. With our own trucks we are forwarding the goods from Istanbul to the factory and vice versa. We are using the night for transportation to compensate the location disadvantage. This makes as flexible as being in Istanbul. |

As the pattern and cutting layers are done in Istanbul, it is essential to have a data connection to our factory to share all files and information. We are using this line also for our Video conference system. We are using a Gerber s91 automatic cutter and a Gerber Spreader with 10.000 pieces daily capacity. |

140 sewing machines with all automatic machines like back pocket, interlining, belt loops, welt pocket machine etc. Today’s capacity is 4000 pieces per day. Totally we will have 200 machines with a capacity of 6.000 pieces daily in 2006 |

18 laundry machines, 6 drying machines give us a daily washing capacity already for 15.000 pieces daily. For fashion we are using sand blasting and spray machines, crinkle washings with oven system, 35 hand brush machines. Our lab and chemists are creating always new ideas for new wash effects. Garment dye is also possible in our own laundry. |

Inline inspection is done through all stages of production. As we are doing all of the samples and size sets in our own factory we are trying to solve production problems during the sampling stage. Libra is able to make 200 pieces of collection per day and also 20 pieces of proto types, remakes or size sets. We have 25 people working in the sampling |

We are doing a piece by piece quality control after the washing in terms of color and quality. Each wash lot is checked with the wash reference and only after approval it will go to the quality department. |

With 14 ironing table and 4 blowers we are finishing 7000 pieces per day in the moment. We are hoping to see you for inline and final inspection in Erbaa, if not - you still have chance in our Istanbul warehouse to see all your production and make the final inspection there. |
